What We Do
Advocacy & Policy Education
PSN provides policy-based education that explains ADCRR rules and procedures in plain language. We help families understand visitation policies, communication restrictions, grievance processes, disciplinary actions, and administrative remedies. When internal systems fail, we document exhausted grievances, identify patterns of misuse or retaliation, and advocate for accountability and oversight through appropriate channels. Our advocacy focuses on incarcerated individuals with no voice and families who experience retaliation after speaking up.
Civil Rights Support & Legal Collaboration
PSN works closely with a lawyer who can assist families when potential civil rights violations arise. While PSN does not provide legal advice or legal representation, we help families identify civil rights concerns, organize documentation, and connect them with appropriate legal assistance.
Family Support & Community Connection
Incarceration impacts entire families—not just the person inside. PSN offers peer support groups and community education to reduce isolation, provide emotional support, and create a safe space where families can share experiences without judgment. We believe informed and connected families are better equipped to advocate for themselves and their loved ones.
Financial Assistance & Essential Needs (As Funding Allows)
Once donations and funding allow, PSN plans to provide direct financial assistance to families affected by incarceration. This assistance may include:
Rental and utility assistance
Grocery and household supply support
Gas cards to assist with visitation, court, and essential travel
Emergency basic-needs assistance
These supports are intended to stabilize families and reduce the financial burden caused by incarceration.
